DENTAL IMPLANTS

Your smile says a lot about you. It is the first thing people notice about you and one of the last things they will forget. Losing a single tooth or several teeth can affect the way people see you and the way you see yourself. Losing teeth will also have negative effects on your remaining natural teeth, your ability to communicate and your general health.

What are dental implants?
A dental implant is basically a replacement for the root of a missing tooth. It is a titanium anchor that is surgically implanted into the jawbone beneath the gum line. Over time, the bone grows securely around the implant. Once this has happened, the implant is ready to accept a crown, dentures or a bridge. When the procedure is complete, your mouth will look and feel like it is totally and perfectly natural.

There are Solutions!
There are several solutions if you are suffering from tooth loss. Bridges, dentures, or crowns may be a viable solution for you. There is, however, a better, more permanent solution with Dental Implants.

What are the benefits of Dental Implants?

Implants are a permanent solution.
Once the titanium anchor is securely in place, it will not need to be removed as long as it is properly maintained. Maintenance is as simple as caring for a natural tooth.

Implants look completely natural.
Once the implant and crown are in place, it will look just like the rest of your teeth. No one will be able to tell you’ve had an implant.

Implants feel completely natural.
Not only will your new prosthesis look great, it will feel great too. Just as people won’t be able to see a difference between it and the rest of your teeth, you won’t be able to feel a difference either.

Implants are a solid solution.
Don’t be afraid to eat what you want. Your implants aren’t going anywhere. Because your implants are permanently affixed to your jaw bone, you are free to eat things like apples and corn on the cob without difficulty. Eating becomes enjoyable again.

Implants will improve your health.
Proper teeth will mean that you can eat a proper meal, not having to go without those foods that provide essential nutrients but may be hard to chew with dentures.

An implant will protect the teeth adjacent to it.
When a tooth is missing, the bone where the root used to be will eventually shrink. When that happens, it changes the shape of your mouth and the health of the teeth around that space. Wearing dentures or a bridge doesn’t fix this problem. Dentures have very poor chewing efficiency and contribute to further bone loss because they compress the blood supply to the remaining bone. Implants are permanently attached to bone. This results in rigid support of the replacement teeth which increases chewing efficiency and social confidence.

Implants will help your face keep its shape.
Your teeth effectively help to hold your face’s shape. When teeth are missing, your jaw’s bone mass shrinks, changing the shape of your face. Your chin appears to protrude, your nose flattens, you develop jowls and wrinkles around your mouth and nose. Because implants take the place of missing teeth, they help to maintain the natural shape of your face.

Implants will improve your confidence.
Don’t be afraid to get close to that special someone with your implants. All they will see will be your beautiful, natural smile.
